Everton are aiming to extend their pefect start to the season when they meet Premier League champions and neighbours Liverpool. The Reds will be looking to bounce back following their 7-2 defeat at Aston Villa.

The Toffees are monitoring the fitness of Lucas Digne, who suffered a minor knee injury on international duty.

Seamus Coleman, Allan and Andre Gomes all returned to training this week and are in contention but Mason Holgate remains sidelined.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is still out so Adrian will keep his place between the sticks.

Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara are both available again after self-isolating because of positive COVID-19 tests, while Joel Matip has retutned to training.

“Now I think they did perfect business in the summer. They found pretty much exactly the players they needed to improve an already pretty good football team.

“I’m really not surprised about the way they play.”
