The Premier League returns to action this weekend after the October international break, with Newcastle United hosting Manchester United on Saturday.

For many supporters of the 20 clubs, it will be the first chance to see their deadline day signings in action in the fifth round of fixtures.

There could even be more additions before this weekend, with the domestic-only window still open until Friday.

Here are the latest Premier League transfer rumours.

Milan clubs interested in Newcastle-linked star

Boubakary Soumare, who was previously linked with a move to Newcastle, is now a target for AC Milan and Inter Milan, according to Tuttosport (via Sempre Milan).

Steve Bruce’s side reportedly saw a €35million bid for the Lille midfielder rejected, but now it seems like it’s a race between the two Milan sides.

Soumare has played four times for the French side this season in Ligue 1, but his future could be elsewhere.

It has been reported that the 21-year-old would not want to move somewhere that didn’t offer him European football, which may have proved to be a stumbling block for the Magpies.

Inter plan bid for Aguero

Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte is planning a summer bid for Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, according to Calciomercato.

Aguero’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of the 2021/22 season, and he could be available for a reduced price at the end of the current campaign.

Conte, the former boss of Chelsea, is a massive admirer of the Argentine forward and with Lautaro Martinez linked with a move to Barcelona, the City striker could act as an immediate replacement.

Aguero is City’s all-time top scorer with more than 250 goals for the Premier League side, after joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

West Ham close to Benrahma deal

West Ham United are close to agreeing a fee with Championship side Brentford for their winger Said Benrahma, according to The Guardian.

The Hammers reportedly had a £13m bid for Bournemouth striker Josh King rejected, and could look to sign Benrahma instead.

The Bees value the Algerian winger at £25m, with West Ham holding “productive talks” over the weekend over a deal worth around £20m – plus add-ons.

David Moyes’ side hope to be in a position to discuss personal terms with Benhrama soon.

Leeds expected to sign Cantwell

Leeds United are expected to complete the signing of Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell before the window closes on Friday.

That’s according to the Daily Star, who are reporting that the Whites are still after Cantwell despite having a £15m bid rejected by the Canaries recently.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have spent close to £100m in the transfer window so far, and it will go way over that future if the 22-year-old does move to Elland Road.

The English playmaker impressed last season in the Premier League for Norwich – who want £20m for his services.

Steve Bruce and Mike Ashley

Recent fallout over the long-running takeover saga at Newcastle United hasn’t just been the talk of Tyneside – it was the talk of the footballing world.

Now, Steve Bruce must recollect his team and push forward  without the change of ownership and new backing.

However, the twists and turns aren’t over, with current owner Mike Ashley ‘considering all options’ after the Premier League rejected the £300m takeover.

Man United blocked Everton move for Romero

Manchester United turned down a late loan offer from Everton for goalkeeper Sergio Romero, according to The Athletic.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was willing to let the Argentine shot-stopper leave Old Trafford now that Dean Henderson is back at the club.

However, Man United wanted an £8m fee for Romero, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side were only willing to make a loan offer.

Romero is now in the final year of his contract at the Premier League giants and could leave the club for free next summer.
