Midtjylland remain one of the powerhouse sides in Denmark, which has seen Nicoliasen pick up plenty of silverware for the side he came through the ranks at and made his debut for in 2017.

He picked up Danish titles in 2018 and last season, with those successes punctuated by Danish Cup silverware last year.

Nicolaisen started both games against Scotish giants Rangers in the Europa League last term, as Steven Gerrard’s side eventually progressed 7-3 on aggregate.

Midtjylland are managed by former Blues defender Brian Priske, who spent time at Fratton Park in the 2005-06 campaign after being signed by Alain Perrin from Genk.
