Man Utd transfer news: Jack Grealish plan benefits two Ole Gunnar Solskjaer players | Football | Sport
A year ago, Solskjaer gave serious thought to the prospect of ending Lingard’s Manchester United career.
The England international had angered his manager by uploading a distasteful video to his social media accounts, one he was forced to apologise for.
Solskjaer, wanting his players to behave in the right manner, nearly cut him loose.
But he was given one last chance and, so far, Lingard hasn’t fully taken it.
There have been reasons for that. Off the field he’s been hit by trouble, having to care for his siblings Jasper and Daisy-Boo with his mother, Kirsty, unwell.
“I am normally quite bubbly and want to put smiles on people’s faces but people have seen the change in my ways,” he told MailOnline earlier in the season.

But Mata must do more to show he’s got what it takes to play at the highest level while entering the twilight years of his career.
If he grabs his chance, that may mean United ending their interest in Grealish altogether.
With Villa demanding £80million for their star asset, there’s definitely reason for the Red Devils to walk away and place their faith internally.
Mata is a popular member of the squad, too, and is especially close to Fernandes and goalkeeper David De Gea.
And whether he can spark United into walking away from Grealish entirely remains to be seen.
