Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has chosen his Jadon Sancho partner in crime | Football | Sport
manager may sign the perfect Jadon Sancho partner in crime in the form of Jack Grealish this summer. There have been claims that interest in the Aston Villa star has cooled because of his £75million asking price. But remains determined to land the playmaker, with the Red Devils hopeful he can provide the ammunition for Sancho to fire.
Manchester United feel they’ll get Sancho.
While a deal for the Borussia Dortmund star is currently tricky to negotiate, there remains a confidence within Old Trafford that the England international will make the move.
Having failed to land Sancho a year ago, Solskjaer has ordered Woodward to get the deal done. And quickly, too.
The United manager doesn’t want a protracted saga, with Woodward taking his time on deals for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes over the last 12 months.
Sancho isn’t Solskjaer’s only transfer target, however.
The United manager is also eager to add Grealish to his squad, having been impressed by the playmaker’s form at Aston Villa.

And, if he signs, he’s got the potential to help Sancho scale even greater heights than he already has throughout his career so far.
United have Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba capable of creating chances at the current time.
But the Red Devils want further options in attack and believe Grealish would be a good fit, choosing the 24-year-old over Leicester’s James Maddison.
It was clear towards the end of the Premier League season that Solskjaer couldn’t rely on Fernandes every week, with the player looking jaded in matches against Leicester, West Ham and Chelsea of late.
United also know that Pogba still hopes to join Real Madrid one day and, though he’s happy to wait around for another 12 months, they want Grealish regardless.
The Villa star would be a substantial upgrade on Jesse Lingard in the squad, with the England international scoring just one league goal all season.
And his creative instincts would only benefit Sancho if he were to join.
Grealish is a player capable of unlocking defences with a moment of magic and his passing range would benefit the Dortmund star, who would rely on his pace to get in behind.
The fact he managed eight goals and six assists in a Villa side who spent most of the season under the cosh is impressive, too.
With better players like Sancho ahead of him, Grealish’s numbers would surely rise in a side who, since the New Year, have been playing some of the best football in the country.
United already have several good partners in crime for Sancho.
Marcus Rashford is hoping to strike up a good rapport with his close friend, who he has known for a number of years.

Anthony Martial has the potential to elevate his own game playing alongside the Dortmund star, whose selfless would surely benefit the France international.
And Fernandes and Mason Greenwood are also two players who have the potential to help Sancho become a huge Old Trafford hit.
But Solskjaer knows more is required.
And he’s hoping that, if all goes to plan, Grealish will be creating chances aplenty for Sancho to dispatch.
Whether Woodward is ultimately successful in signing the pair, however, is something only time will tell.
