Man City transfer news RECAP Ruben Dias ‘to fly to Manchester’ plus Kounde and Koulibaly latest

Gabriel Jesus will miss Manchester City ’s next three matches – and possibly more – after picking up an injury in the win at Wolves on Monday.

The full extent of the problem has not been revealed, but the Brazilian FA announced he had pulled out of their squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers.

With Sergio Aguero out until after the international break, it means City go into Sunday’s clash with Leicester without a recognised striker, other than 17-year-old Liam Delap, who scored on his debut in the Carabao Cup win over Wolves last night.

Jesus has been replaced in the Brazil squad by Hertha Berlin’s Mattheus Cunha, with the Brazil national team website announcing: “Last Wednesday (23) the English team contacted the doctor of the Brazilian National Team, Rodrigo Lasnar, reporting the athlete’s injury, detected after the game against Wolverhampton, on Monday (21), in the Premier League.”

Jesus tweeted “I’ll be back soon” after the news broke.
