Gameweek 5 of FPL is fast approaching as managers get their teams in order for the last round of Premier League fixtures. With the season now in full swing, deciding what to do with your side becomes increasingly important. Here are some tips to consider ahead Saturday’s 11am deadline.

Fantasy Premier League transfer tips

Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son (£9.1m) is the most-signed player ahead of GW5, being transferred into more than a million teams.

With both Kevin De Bruyne and Sadio Mane doubts for their respective games, managers are banking on Son to deliver the points.

He has six goals and one assist to his name already this season, and will be confident of finding the net against West Ham this weekend.

Another major transfer that has been taking place this week involves Everton’s James Rodriguez (£7.8m).

The Colombian has been added to over 600,000 teams ahead of the clash against Premier League champions and longtime rivals Liverpool.

Rodriguez has adapted well to the top-flight, scoring two goals and registering one assists, and FPL managers appear keen to see how he will fare in his first Merseyside derby.

Fantasy Premier League bargain tips

There are a number of bargains available in defence this season, with several FPL players under £5m playing regularly.

One that stands out is Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa (£4.6m), who has offered returns at both ends, with two clean sheets and goal in his first three games.

Fantasy Premier League captain picks

There is plenty to like about choosing a Tottenham player for the captaincy this weekend.

As an FPL midfielder, Son’s all-round potential for goals, assists and a clean sheet makes him slightly more appealing.

However, team-mate Harry Kane is also in fine form and does have penalty duties in his favour.

‘If in doubt, captain Mohamed Salah,’ is a popular saying in the FPL community and it often rings true.

Liverpool make the trip next door to in-form Everton this weekend and, despite being thumped 7-2 by Villa last time out, Salah (£12.2m) still got himself a brace.

Those looking for differential options make wish to consider one of the Villa boys.

Midfielder Jack Grealish (£7.1m) and striker Ollie Watkins (£5.9m) stand out as viable choices for their trip to Leicester.

Grealish was the highest-scoring asset in GW4 with 24 points, and has three goals and three assists in as many games this season.

Watkins bagged himself a hat-trick against Liverpool and probably should’ve scored more, so he could be among the goals again this weekend.
