As well as potentially signing a goalkeeper, Ancelotti has made it clear he’s keen to bring in another centre-back.

The Everton boss is short of options due to a number of injuries, but he stopped short of talking about speculation surrounding a move for Fikayo Tomori.

“He [Branthwaite] had a problem on his ankle, he’s out for a least three-five weeks,” he said last week.

“He doesn’t need surgery but he has to rest for one month. Mason Holgate is out and the other players are all fit and ready to play.
