Brentford head coach Thomas Frank is desperate for Said Benrahma to make a decision on his future.

The Brentford winger made his first appearance of the season today, coming on for the final stages of today’s 1-1 draw with Millwall.

Benrahma has been heavily linked with a move away from Brentford, with Crystal Palace and Aston Villa both credited with an interest in the Algerian international.

So too have Arsenal and Chelsea, while Fulham have been tipped to make a late breakthrough in the chase for the former Nice forward.

Villa head coach Dean Smith brought Benrahma to Brentford during his time in charge of the London club and some fans have been keen for the pair to reunite at Villa Park.

Frank, under whom Benrahma scored 17 goals last season, wants a resolution soon.

Speaking at a post-match press conference, Frank said: “My answer needs to be both. I think all of us, including him, would like to have answer; stay or go.

“I don’t know if he will be here after the transfer window but that’s part of football, so we deal with it.

“And I must say that Said has been bang-on in terms of attitude and being a top professional. That’s just the transfer window.

“I think he did fairly well, it wasn’t his best 20 minutes but he still showed good actions and put in one unbelievable cross. One inch more and it’s a goal for Ivan Toney.

“I’m happy with his attitude. I don’t know what’s going to happen, I can only guess. If he’s here, then I’m more than happy to have one of the best attackers in the division.”
