Villa owners make fresh cash injection during transfer spree

Aston Villa’s owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens have injected fresh capital into the club’s holding company.

A filing on Companies House on October 14 shows the allotment of 30,000,000 shares at the value of £1 each.

Effective from September 22, the full value of the shares was paid at the time with exactly £30million injected into NSWE UK Limited.

The company was formerly named Recon Group UK Limited but changed its name in October last year to reflect the change of ownership from Tony Xia to Sawiris and Edens.

There are no details as to what the money may be in aid of directly, but allotting shares is a fairly standard practice to finance a business so that it may meet cash-flow requirements, finance day-to-day operations or pay off debts.

Billionaires Sawiris and Edens have used share issues to inject fresh capital into Villa on several occasions since their takeover of the club in July 2018.
