The first phase of the transfer window finished with a bang for Arsenal fans. The Gunners completed a long-awaited deal for Thomas Partey to the delight of fans in north London.

The Ghanaian will bring a class and energy to Arsenal’s midfield and help Mikel Arteta transition into the next phase of his strategy.

There is still time for the club to do deals, both incoming and outgoing, between now and the end of the domestic transfer window on Friday.

With that in mind here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Ozil rejects Arsenal exit

Mesut Ozil has turned down a move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr, according to reports.

The German international is Arsenal’s highest paid player on £350,000-per-week, but he has become a pariah at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.

The club were willing to accept a £5million offer according to TYC Sports, with Al-Nassr offering a two-year deal to the player.

The report states Ozil rejected the chance to move to the Middle East, as he is keen to stay in north London – irrespective of whether he plays a role under Arteta.

The former Real Madrid midfielder has one-year left on his current Arsenal contract.

Arsenal’s capture of Ajax youngster annoys agent

Joel Ideho joined Arsenal last week from Ajax to the annoyance of the player’s agent.

Ideho, 17, only joined the Dutch giants from Willem II this summer and made the surprising decision to join Arsenal after a few months in Amsterdam.

Now the player’s agent Bart van Meel has spoken to Ajax Showtime about the situation, and claimed an unknown agent has convinced the player that a move to North London is in his best interests.

Van Meel is said to be unhappy at his client ignoring his advice in favour of a new influence and securing a move to North London.

William Saliba u-turn after Europa League squad snub

William Saliba is set to remain at Arsenal until January.

The French defender signed for Arsenal from Saint-Etienne last summer but remained on loan at the French club until this summer.

Mikel Arteta was keen to see the player go back out on loan to further his development, but they failed to sign the paperwork in time for the deadline.

Arteta subsequently excluded Saliba from the club’s Europa League squad, in a move that saw speculation linking him with a move to the Championship.

The domestic window closes this Friday and Brentford had been identified as a potential landing spot for Saliba.

According to The Athletic, however, the Frenchman will remain with Arsenal at least until the January transfer window.
