Antoine Griezmann ‘thinks Barcelona would struggle’ if he seals PSG transfer | Football | Sport
Antoine Griezmann reportedly thinkswould struggle if he was to leave the club. The France international has emerged as a transfer target having failed to sparkle under Ronald Koeman so far. But, while he’s open to a move to the Parc des Princes, he’s content in Catalonia for the time being.
Barcelona signed Griezmann from Atletico Madrid during the 2019 summer transfer window, paying £105million to land the France international.
However, he’s failed to sparkle in the time since.
Both Ernesto Valverde and Quique Setien failed to coax the best from Griezmann last season, with the striker scoring just 15 goals across all competitions.
And he’s yet to impress since Koeman’s appointment, with the forward still searching for his first Barcelona goal of the season.
As a result of his struggles in La Liga, PSG are circling.
The Ligue 1 giants would love to field Griezmann in the same side as the likes of Neymar, Angel Di Maria, Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi.

Andsay Griezmann thinks that, should he leave Barcelona behind, the La Liga giants are likely to struggle.
While that’s the case, however, the 29-year-old is open to leaving for PSG.
He feels he’d have ‘nothing to loose’ by uprooting to the Parc des Princes, where he’d be able to have a crack at making history within his own country.
But what ultimately happens remains to be seen, with Barcelona still holding out hope the 2018 World Cup winner will rediscover his mojo.
Meanwhile, speaking recently, the 29-year-old insisted he wasn’t looking to leave the club.
He said: “Is my future at Barca? Yes.
“I don’t know why people invent destinations to see if one day they will be right.
“There I am very good, I know I have the confidence of the club and the coach, so I am fine. It has been a very complicated season for all of us but we aim to restart again.”
Griezmann was recently deployed in a No 10 position for France, struggling in their Nations League showdown with Portugal.
But Didier Deschamps was slammed by France legend Giresse for that decision, saying: “The problem is, Griezmann has lost his confidence, and Didier is playing him to try and bring it back.
“He played like a 10, but Griezmann is not a 10.
“We have always said that if there is a player who the play should revolve around, it should be Giroud. At the World Cup, it was like that with Mbappe on one side and [Blaise] Matuidi on the other.
“Well, we talked about a 4-4-2 and a diamond system in the middle and we know very well that we need things to complement each other when we try to play this way.
“However, for two matches, Didier Deschamps places Griezmann behind the two in front of Giroud and Mbappe.
“But against the Portuguese, Griezmann behaved more like a kind of false off-centre attacker, he was no longer in support of Giroud.
“Because Mbappe, he is not the type of player who will move around the striker. He needs space.”
